Treat the man in your life (father or not) to an experience he truly won’t forget.
On Sunday, June 11, Motivation Marketing, Bea Williams, the Hip Hop Caucus and Da LuckySpot Barbershop will kick off a month-long celebration of men. The celebration will include three events that will allow men to be pampered and empowered. See below for a full list of events ::
Sunday, June 11 :: PAMPERHim | 3-6 p.m. | Da LuckySpot Barbershop
Send him to PamperHim, an event that will allow him to enjoy massages and drinks in the Mobile Mancave. He will sip on drinks from the beauties of Bar:Code Solutions. Before he leaves he can get a free haircut and a MANicure by AlphaMale Nailcare Services for Men.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Tuesday, June 20 :: for the LUV of Black Men :: A Conversation About the Socialization of Black Men | 6-9 p.m. : TBD
In an article titled, "Dear Society :: Heartbroken Black Men Need Love Too," author Lincoln Anthony Blades questions how we socialize black boys who become men that can't deal with the range of emotions they experience. This same theme is seen through the movie "LUV."
Featuring Common and the main character, the movie "LUV" showcases the socialization of black boys through the eyes of an 11-year-old boy who gets a crash course in what it means to be a man when he spends a day with the ex-convict uncle he idolizes.
Come out to watch the movie "LUV" and enjoy a thought-provoking discussion on the socialization of black boys.
Sunday, June 25 :: Convo, Cocktails and Cigars | 3-6 p.m. | Cigars Etc. 9007 Monroe Road
Close out our celebration of him with a fun and engaging conversation hosted by a local radio personality featuring all the things men love - drinks, cigars and women!
